At Church of the Resurrection, our mission is to know Christ and make Him known. We pursue this mission through worship, service and a commitment to spiritual growth. We are members of the Anglican Church of North America, a Christian denomination that unites over 100,000 Anglicans in over 1,000 churches across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

What is Anglicanism?

Anglicanism has its roots in the Church of England, but is now a global Christian movement. A major distinctive is that Anglicans use the Book of Common Prayer for worship. It is somewhat unique in that it is a Protestant tradition which values the ancient catholic or universal Christian heritage. Anglicanism is a “big tent” denomination and our church identifies most closely with Reformation Anglicanism.

Anglicanism brings together faith in Jesus Christ, a commitment to the authority of Holy Scripture, the beauty of liturgical worship, and an expectation of the work of the Holy Spirit to empower us for mission. We warmly invite you to come and see!

Our Core Beliefs

We affirm the basic Christian truths found in the creeds of the early Church (the Apostle’s Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed). 

We hold to classical Anglicanism as expressed in the Thirty-Nine Articles and worship according to the Book of Common Prayer. 

We align with orthodox global Anglicanism by adhering to the Jerusalem Declaration of the Global Anglican Future Conference.

We are members of the Anglican Church of North America, a Christian denomination that unites approximately 100,000 Anglicans in 1,000 churches across the United States, Canada and Mexico. We are a part of the Diocese of the Rocky Mountains.

 FAQs

  • We sing praise to God, hear bible passages read, listen to a sermon which explains the bible, pray together, and receive holy communion. Before the sermon, children (K-5) are invited to take part in Sunday school where they receive age-appropriate lessons. They gather back with family before communion. The entire service usually last just over one hour.

  • We welcome all baptized Christians to join us at the table. We take communion by walking to the front of the church to receive bread and wine (we also offer gluten free bread and grape juice). During communion we invite those not communing to come forward to receive a brief prayer from the pastor, but we don’t pressure anyone to participate who is not comfortable.

  • Visitors are not expected to give an offering.

  • There is no dress code, but many attenders wear business casual attire for Sunday worship. 

  • We welcome everyone and are especially happy to meet non-Christians and hear their questions. We also wrestle with questions, but have found good answers in Christian scripture and tradition. We’d love to share these with you. Please contact a member of the clergy team.

  • In accord with the majority of Anglicans: “We acknowledge God’s creation of humankind as male and female and the unchangeable standard of Christian marriage between one man and one woman as the proper place for sexual intimacy and the basis of the family. We repent of our failures to maintain this standard and call for a renewed commitment to lifelong fidelity in marriage and abstinence for those who are not married” (The Jerusalem Declaration)
