Children’s Ministry
Our Vision
for Children’s Ministry
In the CoR children’s ministry, we value biblical truth, relationships, qualitative learning, and connecting children with the liturgy and the rhythms of the church. We’ve adapted God’s Big Story, a scripture-driven curriculum in a visual Montessori-style format, to reveal God’s Word for children.
Get Involved
Sunday School
During the Sunday worship service, we offer Nursery (8 weeks-5 years) and Sunday School for elementary age children (K-5th).
All children will begin in the sanctuary with their families for the opening prayers and hymns. At dismissal they learn about the Gospel in the children’s ministry classrooms, then return to the worship service to participate in the communion liturgy, closing prayers and hymns, and benediction.
Events
Throughout the year, we host events such as our Fall Party, St. Nicholas Breakfast, Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner, Lent Workshop, Easter Egg Hunt, and summer retreat. All children and families are welcome at these events!
Children’s Ministry Leaders
-
Alicia Boelhauf
Children & Family Ministry
A graduate of Washington University, Alicia served in AmeriCorps, taught in public and private schools, and co-developed a curriculum that earned national distribution and presidential recognition, but considers marriage and children her greatest accomplishments. Alicia felt called to working with young people because they bear the image of Christ and possess imagination, sincerity, and hope.

Sara Ford
Nursery
Sara, her husband Caleb, and their three girls came to COR in the Fall of 2022. With a BA from Central Christian College of the Bible (2011) and an MRE from Lincoln Christian Seminary (2021), Sara believes faith is both “pretty and practical”- nurtured in our heads, hands, and hearts. She enjoys reading, writing, music, gardening, and deep conversations with good friends.
